Deliciously flippant

Tis the start of my final semester! In two weeks I have a presentation for my Apologetic's 3 class. I am leading a 2-hour discussion on David Berlinski's "The Devil's Delusion." This wonderful piece of literature is an eloquent rebuttal to Richard Dawkin's "The God Delusion."
Berlinski is a liberal Jew who received his degree's at Princeton and now lives in Paris. He was interviewed for Ben Stein's "Expelled" and is as humorously dry and cynical in his interviews there as he is in his book. I've only gotten through the preface and the first two chapters but am loving it.
I've been accused of being flippant about serious things in the past. I've wondered if that is actually the case and if so, where it comes from. I wonder if my 'flippancy' is derived from my appreciation of the British psyche. If you notice, they are often 'flippant' yet eloquent when dealing with serious topics that they feel strongly about. I appreciate this because I feel as though I am constantly surrounded by people who take things so seriously to the point of it being oppressive. A little flippancy and light humor is desperately needed in my humble opinion. Hopefully I also capture the eloquence.
I'm not perfect at this approach, and so I'm sure my intentions have come across in the wrong way in the past, and for that I am sorry. However my goal that I am still striving for is to bring a little lightheartedness amongst people who constantly take themselves entirely way too seriously.

Anyway... back to the original topic at hand: If you get a chance, read the Devil's Delusion. Its well worth the read. I haven't finished it, so I can't say I agree with everything the author puts forth; but the mental exercise will help keep your brain in shape ;-) As well as give you some great apologetics against the modern scientific atheist!
